Right on time, Canadian carrier Bell has introduced the HTC Desire 601, which is already available for purchase at Fido for $300 (€215).

However, Bell launched the smartphone as HTC Desire and is only offering the black color version of the device. The price is similar, which means that customers will have to come up with $300 (€215) upfront to get the smartphone. Additionally, Bell offers the HTC Desire for free with a new two-year agreement.

The Desire ships with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box and packs a decent 1.4 GHz dual-core processor.

The mid-range Android smartphone features 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

It is also worth mentioning that HTC Desire sports a 4.5-inch qHD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating.
