Starting today, the HTC Desire 601 smartphone is available for purchase on SaskTel’s network as well, with a price tag of $49.99 (€35) attached to it, with the signing of a two-year contract.

The smartphone can be seen listed on this page on the wireless carrier’s website, and costs $299.99 (€212) if purchased contract-free.

HTC Desire 601 arrives on the market with a 1.4GHz dual-core processor packed inside, as well as with a 4.5-inch touchscreen display.

The smartphone also packs 8GB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 64GB of additional storage space.

On the back, the handset sports an 8-megapixel camera, capable of recording videos in full HD resolution. A front camera for making video calls while on the go has also been included in the package.

The mobile phone was launched with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity inside, support for 4G LTE networks, and with a built-in GPS receiver.

Furthermore, the Android-based smartphone packs a series of unique features coming from HTC, including dual front-facing HTC BoomSound speakers.

With HTC’s own Sense UI loaded on top, the HTC Desire 601 is capable of providing its users with features such as HTC Zoe Camera and HTC Blinkfeed.

“Get impressive features and surprising affordability with the HTC Desire 601,” the Canadian mobile phone carrier notes on its website.

“Take stunning HD video and pictures with the advanced Zoe camera, listen to your music on its powerful front-facing speakers, and stay in the loop with the latest social posts, news, and more with fit both in your hand and in your life.”

HTC Desire 601 was launched at SaskTel alongside the new Nexus 5. While it might not pack the same features as the new Google phone, the device still sports appealing capabilities for a mid-ranger, not to mention that its price tag makes it a great option for budget-conscious users.
