Taiwanese handset maker HTC has yet to officially unveil a smartphone called Desire 510, but the first mention of such a handset dates back in early July.

According to retired leaker @evleaks, the so-called HTC Desire 510 should arrive in the United States soon and will be available for purchase at Sprint.

The second mention of the device dates from late July, when word emerged online that Sprint may launch the HTC One M8 Plus and the HTC Desire 510. Unfortunately, neither of the two leaks mentioned when exactly the Desire 510 might go on sale.

There's a high chance that the Desire 510 will only be officially introduced at Sprint a few weeks after HTC takes the wraps off the smartphone. We believe that will happen later this month or early the next, when IFA 2014 trade fair is set to kick off in Germany.

However, new info coming via AusDroid points to Australia as another destination for the HTC Desire 510. An internal document that has just surfaced online claims HTC Desire 510 is “Coming Soon” in Australia.

We believe the smartphone will be available for purchase through all major carriers in the country, as well as via authorized retailers. Although there's no word on price tag, considering the phone's specs sheet, the Desire 510 will be priced as a mid-range smartphone.

Even though previous leaks did not unveil any info on the Desire 510's specs sheet, the last one highlights some of its most important features.

For example, HTC Desire 510 is said to ship with Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box, which is the lastest version of Google's mobile operating system.

When it comes to hardware, the mid-range handset will be equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit and 8GB of internal memory.

There's no mention of RAM, but we can safely assume that it will pack at least 1GB of RAM inside, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

HTC Desire 510 should sport a 4.7-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution. It will also pack a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording.

The smartphone will support both 3G and 4G connectivity, as well as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS with A-GPS and microUSB.

Rest assured that we will keep an eye out for any additional details the HTC Desire 510, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
