Today, Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation has listed the HTC Desire 310 in China, after briefly posting info on it on its global website back in January.

The mobile phone emerged at the beginning of the year as an entry-level device, and the info that HTC has posted on it on its Chinese website confirms that once again.

Unfortunately, the handset vendor did not provide specific info on when the smartphone will become available for purchase, and it remains to be seen whether it will stay listed on HTC's online portal in China.

The phone has emerged in China as HTC Desire 310w, with no specific details on its pricing available as of now either. However, we expect it to be an affordable phone, just as any other entry-level phone would be.

As for the hardware specifications that this handset will land on shelves with, they are fairly unimpressive, though we were certainly not expecting something different from such a device, that’s for sure.

For example, HTC Desire 310w comes with a 4.5-inch touchscreen display that can deliver only a FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) resolution.

The new smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, which should be none other than the MediaTek MT6582M chip. The CPU is complemented by 512MB of RAM, supposedly enough to ensure that it can offer decent performance levels.

Moreover, the new Desire model comes with 4GB of internal memory, which is complemented by a microSD memory card slot, enabling users to add up to 32GB of external storage to the mix.

On the back, HTC Desire 310w will feature a 5-megapixel camera without flash, though it should be able to record videos in 720p resolution. A VGA camera was packed on the handset’s front, so as to enable users to make video calls while on the go.

Connectivity wise, the smartphone comes with support for 3G networks, while also including the usual Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 capabilities. Moreover, it comes with dual-SIM functionality (3G + 2G GSM), microUSB 2.0 port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The handset is powered by a 2000 mAh battery, weighs 140 grams, and measures 131.44 x 68.03 x11.25 mm. HTC has loaded Google’s Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system on top of this device, it seems.

We’re still uncertain on when the new device will become available for purchase, though an official announcement on the matter should emerge soon. In fact, HTC should formally introduce it globally in the not too distant future as well, so stay tuned for more on the matter.
