Verizon has been long rumored to plan adding to its lineup a new device in the “Incredible” series, and it appears that it should not be too long at all before the company makes the move.

The new device, supposedly called DROID Incredible 4G, has been spotted online before, featuring the name of HTC Fireball, and has just made an appearance over at the FCC.

For the time being, Verizon Wireless has not offered specific details on the new device, nor has the carrier confirmed its existence.

However, the fact that this mobile phone has just appeared over at the FCC shows that its release date should be near (in line with previous rumors that pointed at an April 26th launch).

At the FCC, the upcoming mobile phone features the model number HTC PJ53100. Apparently, the smartphone already received the necessary approvals from the Bluetooth SIG, and is indeed headed to shelves as Verizon’s Incredible 4G, at least this is what Blog of Mobile reports.

According to the documentation available over at the FCC, the new mobile phone will hit the market with CDMA connectivity inside, as well as with EV-DO and support for Verizon’s 4G LTE network.

Moreover, it will arrive with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n capabilities, as well as with Bluetooth connectivity, the said documents unveil.

The upcoming handset is also expected to sport a 1.2GHz dual-core application processor inside when made available for purchase, as well as an AMOLED display (specific info on its size and resolution lack at the moment).

The HTC DROID Incredible 4G will run under Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, the same as HTC’s latest high-end devices.

As stated above, Big Red has yet to confirm any specific info on the availability of this mobile phone. However, based on the previous rumors on this phone’s landing, we should expect the move to be made soon, so keep an eye on this space for additional info on the matter.
