No word on when exactly the handset will be officially unveiled

It appears that HTC M8 won’t be the only smartphone to be unveiled in the next couple of weeks, as information on the company’s unannounced HTC D616W has just leaked online.

Romanian blog site Mobilissimo reports that a certain HTC D616W has recently been spotted in AnTuTu benchmarking app database, along with some of its specs.

HTC D616W belongs to the Desire family of smartphone and will be equipped with MediaTek’s MT6592 octa-core chipset clocked at 1.6GHz. The device will also pack a Mali-450 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

We also know that HTC D616W should sport a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution, 4GB of internal memory and possibly microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

According to the AnTuTu benchmark results, HTC D616W should be powered by Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system, but things might change by the time the smartphone goes official.
