The HTC Flyer is the first and only Android tablet launched by the handset maker. Although HTC’s main competitors, Samsung and LG launched quite a few number of tablets, it appears that the Taiwanese company did not want to focus on the slate market.

In this regard, it appears that the HTC told PCAdvisor that the company plans to release a follow-up to the Flyer tablet in the UK.

However, the cited spokesperson stated that the tablet was in development but that the company would release it only when the Flyer’s sequel had “a unique selling point.”

There are no additional details on the next-generation HTC Flyer’s specs sheet, but we can safely assume it will come with the latest version of Google’s mobile platform, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
