We reported on the HTC Desire 8 last week when the first press render of the smartphone leaked in China. Rumors on the handset’s specs sheet emerged online as well, but they have yet to be confirmed by HTC.

However, The Next Web reports that HTC China has just published on its Weibo account the same press render of the Desire 8 that leaked last week, which somewhat confirms the upcoming release of the smartphone.

No details on the Desire 8’s specs have been unveiled yet, but according to the latest hearsay, it should boast a large 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display and an impressive 13-megapixel rear-facing camera.

The mid-range smartphone will ship with an unknown version of Android and probably some market specific apps and services. Stay tuned for more updates on the HTC Desire 8’s availability and pricing options.
