Taiwan-based mobile phone maker HTC is working on a whole series of new handsets, and the codenames of some of them have just leaked into the wild. Among the possible future devices that were spotted there, we can count Glacier, LED, and Vision, with a few more details available on the last of them, though still missing when it comes to the other two.

The three codenames emerged into the wild courtesy of Engadget, which says that not much else is known on what the phones are all about. However, the HTC Vision is suggested to be a device aimed at making an appearance on the market on the airwaves of T-Mobile, given the fact that TMO was listed next to the handset's name.

Moreover, a recent article on Tweakers.net suggests that the HTC Vision might prove a high-end Android-based handset that should land on shelves with a side-sliding QWERTY keyboard included into the mix. Considering that the company has already pushed out a mid-range Android phone with QWERTY, namely the myTouch 3G Slide, there are great chances this info will pan out in the end.

Another specification that Vision should sport would include a touchscreen display capable of delivering a WVGA resolution. Other than that, only suppositions emerged, such as the fact that Android 2.2 should be present on the phone when it landed, or the fact that Vision would sport a different name when launched (which actually makes sense, as HTC usually releases its devices with monikers different from the original codenames).

Mark Moons, director of HTC Benelux, reportedly stated that HTC planned on launching more Android phones with QWERTY keyboards, following a long period of time when none was brought to the market. HTC's Android phones have lately made history (Nexus One, Desire, Incredible), and the inclusion of a physical keypad should help them do even better. Stay tuned for additional details on this.
