Announced one month ago, HTC ChaCha is now available in the Philippines exclusively from Smart Communications. Android fans can obtain the Facebook phone for free on Smart Data Plan 1000 or Unlimited Data Plan 1500.

Although the phone was rumored to be released in the Philippines for quite a while, only last month was it clear that the HTC ChaCha will hit shelves.

HTC ChaCha appeared in a series of ads from Smart Communications in mid-June, thus announcing the phone's arrival.

It appears that Smart Communications will be the exclusive retailer of the HTC ChaCha for one month, after which the phone will become widely available via HTC-authorized sellers and major retailers.

As expected, HTC ChaCha is delivered with a single core 800 Mhz processor, instead of the initial 600 Mhz CPU that was announced back in February.

The Facebook-centric phone offers users the ultimate social network experience thanks to the dedicated button that lets users instantly share almost anything with their friends via Facebook.

Furthermore, the ChaCha packs 512 MB ROM, 512 MB RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

In addition, the smartphone sports an average 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and face detection, as well as camcorder and secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

The smartphone comes with a 2.6-inch multi-touch display with 262k colors support and 480 x 320 pixels resolution, as well as a full portrait QWERTY keyboard.

As previously announced by HTC, the ChaCha will be delivered with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) on board, instead of Android 2.4.

HTC ChaCha is powered by a standard 1250 mAh Li-Ion battery that should provide users with up to 430 hours (660 hours for 3G) of standby time or up to 7 hours and 30 minutes (7 hours for 3G) of talk time.
