Although HTC's Facebook-centric phone, the ChaCha has just been introduced on the market, the phone already receives its first software update.

The Taiwanese handset manufacturer officially states that software update 1.18.401.1 brings application and system enhancements, but no further details have been disclosed for the moment.

HTC ChaCha owners should receive a notification on their phones as soon as the update is made available.

It is recommended to accept the update via a data connection such as Wi-Fi or GPRS / 3G by pressing OK.

To check if the update has been successfully installed, users should go to Settings / About Phone / Software Information / Software Number and confirm that the new build number is indeed 1.18.401.1.

Manufactured in collaboration with Facebook, the HTC ChaCha features a dedicated button that lets users instantly share almost anything.

Whenever a picture is taken, the button flashes and, if the user wants to post the picture onto his Facebook account, he only needs to push the key.

Equipped with a 600 MHz processor, HTC ChaCha packs 512 MB ROM, 512 MB RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The phone features an average 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and face detection, as well as camcorder and secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

HTC ChaCha sports a traditional QWERTY keyboard and a rather small 2.6-inch multi-touch display with 262k colors support and 480 x 320 pixels resolution.

Surprisingly, the phone is delivered with Google's Android 2.4 Gingerbread with a customized HTC Sense UI to offer a smooth Facebook experience.

The ChaCha is powered by a standard 1250 mAh Li-Ion battery that should provide up to 430 hours (660 hours for 3G) of standby time or up to 7 hours and 30 minutes (7 hours for 3G) of talk time.
