HTC confirmed it would bring Android 4.4.2 KitKat to its Butterfly S smartphone, but did not offer details on the exact release date. Unveiled back in June, HTC Butterfly S made it to market one month later with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean onboard.

However, the Taiwanese company offered an Android 4.3 Jelly Bean upgrade in December and then announced the Butterfly S is eligible for further major updates such as KitKat.

We reported last month HTC leaker LlabTooFeR confirmed the Android 4.4.2 KitKat for Butterfly S will arrive in March and his speculations seem to be accurate.

HTC appears to have already started rolling out Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for Butterfly S. The information is once again confirmed by LlabTooFeR who also published a screenshot as proof.

The new ROM version is 3.06.708.3 and according to the official changelog, the update should bring lots of enhancements and bug fixes. For example, Android 4.4.2 update enables Cloud Print Service and adds some security enhancements.

There are also new Bluetooth profiles to support more media interactions added, while support for web browser Flash Player has been removed.

Android 4.4.2 KitKat for HTC Butterfly S should now be pushed OTA (over the air) to unlocked units. Make sure you check for the update by going to Settings / About phone / Update.
