Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation has finally confirmed the upcoming availability of the HTC Butterfly smartphone in Malaysia, after announcing last year that it had no plans to make it available in this market.

No specific info on when the device will become available for purchase has been provided, yet HTC has announced on its Facebook page that it was coming soon.

The smartphone was unveiled in December with a 5-inch touchscreen display and a quad-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor packed inside, as well as with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back.

It also sports 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32 GB of additional storage space. The handset runs under Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, with HTC Sense UI 4+ loaded on top.
