Today, Taiwan-based mobile phone maker HTC Corporation announced the launch of the first HTC-branded devices on the market in China. At the same time, the company announced the signing of an agreement with the wireless carrier China Mobile, the largest operator in the country and around the world by number of subscribers. Through this partnership, HTC should deliver more devices to the Chinese market, and the same result would emerge from the signing of an agreement with GOME Electrical Appliances Holding Ltd., the largest electronics distributor in China.

“We are proud to introduce the HTC brand in China and look forward to bringing a fresh customer-centric smartphone experience to consumers in China,” said Cher Wang, chairman of HTC. “Together with our strategic partner Dopod, we have introduced many state-of-the-art phones over the past few years in China. HTC's passion for innovation and its commitment to delighting people around the world are what drive us to improve the overall mobile experience in big and small ways. It is this customer-centric approach that has driven HTC's global leadership position and has differentiated us.”

HTC already has a broad portfolio of highly appealing smartphones, which are aimed at offering increased flexibility to users. Among the HTC handsets that Chinese mobile phone users would be able to enjoy we can count the newly released Sense-enabled HTC Tianxi, HTC Tianyi, HTC Desire and HTC Wildfire. Some of these handsets are already highly popular around the world, and the Sense solution loaded on them helped a lot. The UI was meant to offer a unique experience through putting people in the center and through making the handsets work in a more natural way.

“The pace of mobile innovation globally is moving at an extraordinary rate, and we are excited to be bringing many of our most innovative phones to China, the largest and most sophisticated mobile market in the world,” said Peter Chou, chief executive officer of HTC. “HTC was founded with a vision for mobile convergence and a passion for innovation that has established us as a globally recognized mobile leader.” HTC has been present on the market in China since 2003, where it delivered various smartphones via wireless carriers in the country. The company also announced its commitment to the designing of TD-SCDMA-based phones.
