HTC is one of the leading providers of Android-based mobile phones around the world, and, while its devices are highly appealing, there's always room for more, and the recently spotted HTC Blast concept phone is a proof of that.

If released on shelves today, this device would easily outsell Galaxy S II, the latest flagship handset from Samsung, which is out performing Apple's iPhone 4.

However, it might still take a while before such a device would be launched on the market, so you should not get your hopes too high.

Of course, that won't stop us from dreaming of having in our hands a smartphone that includes a 1.5GHz dual-core application processor, complemented by an Adreno 220 GPU for great graphics performance.

With a 4.7-inch touchscreen (1280 x 720 pixels) display on board, with a Virtual Hard Buttons Manager manager set to hide the three buttons in landscape mode to offer a 16:9 aspect ratio, the device would certainly be of interest to many.

Further more, its specifications list would include 1GB of RAM, complemented by 1GB of ROM, and 32GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot to expand the available storage space even more would also be included into the mix.

On the back, the HTC Blast would sport a 12-megapixel photo snapper with dual-LED flash and support for HD video recording, complemented by a 3MP camera on the front, for video calling.

Nothing short of its name, Blast would pack both 4G and 3G connectivity capabilities, as well as support for WiFi and Bluetooth, or a built-in GPS receiver.

Other specifications of this device would include HDMI port, micro-USB, 3.5mm headphone jack, a 1800 mAh battery for extended usage time, and Google's Android 3.0 Honeycomb platform, with HTC Sense on top.

All in all, the handset looks very appealing, and the hardware specs are meant to impress even more. However, it is only a concept phone for the time being, and there's no guarantee that HTC would actually plan on launching such a smartphone.
