A new Windows Phone 7-based handsets is now available for purchase in the United States, namely the HTC Arrive, which is the first such handset to sport CDMA connectivity capabilities, and also the first to be released on shelves at Sprint. The new handset was introduced officially a few weeks ago, and already went on sale both through Sprint, as well as via the carrier's retail partners.

At Sprint, the new device is available for $199.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the wireless carrier.

However, it can be acquired for much less from other places, such as Amazon, which already dropped the price tag for this device to only $49 on contract.

The new smartphone comes to the market as Sprint's version of the HTC 7 Pro, which already arrived on shelves in various markets around the world.

HTC Arrive sports a 3.6-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen, a slide-out QWERTY, 1 GHz application processor, and 16GB of internal memory.

The handset also features support for 3G connectivity, as well as WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities, GPS receiver, or a 5.0-megapixel photo snapper with support for video recording.

The specifications list of this device also includes a 1500mAh Standard Li-Ion Battery that can deliver up to 6 hours of talk time. The phone measures 4.63 x 2.32 x 0.61 inches and weighs in at 6.5 oz.

The HTC Arrive lets you see what's going on in your world with a single glance. Live Tiles on the Start Screen alert you to messages, appointments, social feeds and more,” the wireless carrier explains.

“Windows Phone Hubs including Pictures, Games, Music + Video and Office help organize your content so you can access what you love easier and faster - and with Windows Live SkyDrive, you can store up to 25GB of what matters most. Office Mobile gives you access to your office, wherever you need it.”

Among the features list of this device, we can also count access to Bing, as well as Xbox LIVE, or the Windows Phone Marketplace, where they would find a wide range of applications available for download.

You can purchase the HTC Arrive from Sprint's website here, or from Amazon here.
