HTC Corporation, the Taiwan-based leading designer of mobile phones and devices, announced earlier this week the appointing of Jason Mackenzie as the company's president for global sales and marketing.

Effective immediately, Mackenzie will take his role in the newly created position, and will report directly to Peter Chou, HTC's CEO.

Jason Mackenzie joined HTC back in 2005, and has been the head of HTC North America and Latin America since 2007.

“Under Jason's leadership, HTC has become one of the leading smartphone brands in the Americas,” Peter Chou, chief executive officer of HTC Corporation, commented on the appointment.

“His attention to detail, focus on customer service and commitment to driving HTC's innovations across the region have been a testament to his sales and marketing management capabilities.”

“In his new role, Jason is responsible for driving tighter integration and scale across our product portfolio globally.”

The leading handset vendor announced that Mackenzie would be responsible for the company's sales strategies, as well as the go-to-market execution in line with the company's current expansion on the global market.

Until a replacement is announced, Mackenzie will continue to serve as president of North America and Latin America, the company added.

HTC's tremendous success is testament to the company's commitment to innovation and focus on delivering unique experiences that capture the imagination of our customers around the world,” said Mackenzie.

“I am excited to be a part of a new phase in taking HTC's products to more people around the world,” he continued.

Prior to joining HTC, Jason Mackenzie worked for DENSO Wireless and Siemens Communications, where it held a progression of sales and marketing positions, culminating with the role of Vice President for Siemens Communications.

HTC also notes that he earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego.
