Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation has just announced the release of a new version of its HTC Sync software solution, namely HTC Sync 3.0. The new release comes with support for Android 2.1 or later, and brings forth a nice range of new features that were not available with previous flavors of the desktop synchronization solution.

“HTC is delighted to present our newest version of HTC Sync. Now packed with new features, this version features a media sync that is compatible with popular media players available on your PC. You can bring your favorite tunes, playlists, pictures and more to your phone with the click of a button. To enable this function, please install the newest HTC Sync for your phone,” the leading handset vendor notes on its website.

For the time being, however, the new software solution is available only for the users of a HTC Wildfire device, though it seems that the company is working on making it available for other Android-based devices as well. Users interested in downloading the solution should find it available on HTC's support page.

According to the company, users should consider disabling the virus scanner and firewall programs on their desktop computers during the installation process. The handset can be connected to the desktop computer via the provided USB Cable. After connecting the device, users might have to select the option for HTC Sync.

“Once connected, HTC Sync should start automatically. If you have disabled this or it does not pop up, simply go to the start menu and start it manually. Once the application has opened, you will see a picture of your device on the left, and on the right of that image, a list of options for you to sync to your phone. Select Music. Once you have highlighted Music, you can choose to sync a specific folder of music you already have organized, or you can select to sync playlists from popular media players,” the handset vendor concludes.
