Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless seems set to add some new, highly appealing Android-based devices to its offering in the near future, and the newly spotted HTC handset that can be seen in the photo to the left is one of them.

The new smartphone is expected to arrive at Big Red with Android 2.2 Froyo on board, while sporting a sliding QWERTY keyboard, and a sleek design.

According to BGR, the news site that brought these photos into the wild, the mobile phone is also expected to come with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back.

Moreover, the device, which sports the model number ADR6325, should arrive at Verizon with a SIM card for global roaming capabilities.

For what it's worth, the device in question seems to be none other than the already launched HTC Desire Z, which landed at T-Mobile as the T-Mobile G2, and which might arrive at Verizon as the HTC Merge, at least this is what a recent article on Engadget notes.

According to them, the new Android-based mobile phone should arrive on Verizon's shelves with a Qualcomm MSM7630 processor inside, while packing 4GB of internal memory.

Of course, that amount of storage space can be expanded, and the presence of a microSD memory card slot next to the SIM card slot demonstrates that.

Among the other features this handset should pack inside, we can count Microsoft's Bing app, which can be seen on the phone's screen, and which was packed inside other Android handsets at Verizon too.

For the time being, there are no details on whether it would arrive with the new HTC Sense on board, which should be included on HTC Desire Z in other markets.

The HTC ADR6325 is also said to be one and the same dual-mode device that passed through the FCC a while ago, meaning that it might not be too long before it lands on the market.

However, no specific info on this emerged, nor on the price tag it might feature when made available on Verizon's network.
