Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation is reportedly working on a new handset aimed at those people interested in a great selfie-taking device, and it might release it in the fourth quarter of the year.

The phone is reportedly codenamed Eye and should arrive on the market at AT&T in the United States sometime in the October-December timeframe, evleaks.at claims. Most probably, other carriers will also add it to their offerings.

At the same time, the leak suggests that this phone will be positioned as the ultimate selfie handset from the vendor.

While no official confirmation on this device has been provided as of now, it would not come too much as a surprise if things indeed turned out this way.

HTC One (M8), the latest flagship handset from the company, has arrived on the market with a 5-megapixel front camera, being specifically designed for those who want to take great self-shots.

We can imagine that HTC Eye will feature a high-quality front camera too, something that other handsets out there also do. Moreover, HTC might pack it with various software capabilities aimed at offering an even better selfie-taking experience.

Unfortunately, no info on the hardware specs of the upcoming smartphone has been provided as of now, though we suspect that more on it will emerge in the coming months, so stay tuned.
