HTC has a very limited presence on the Windows Phone market, along with other handset manufacturers such as Samsung and Huawei.

Aside from Nokia, no other company bet everything on Windows Phone, which is why updates for smartphones other than Nokia are coming in very slow, or not at all.

The latest two device powered by Windows Phone platform launched by HTC, the 8S and 8X have been getting regular updates, even if they sometime arrived later than on the other smartphones.

However, there was no info on whether or not HTC plans to offer the upcoming Windows Phone Blue update for either of the two smartphones.

Well, it appears that new details have just emerged over the weekend and those who still own the HTC 8X will be pleased to know there's a high chance their device will receive the highly anticipated Windows Phone Blue update.

During an AMA on Reddit, the HTC USA Product Team confirmed it is now working with Microsoft to bring the Windows Phone Blue update on HTC 8X.

“As strong partners of Microsoft, we're working with Microsoft on the Blue update on Windows Phone 8X and will continue to take new products into consideration. Nothing concrete right now, but who knows!”

Judging by the statement offered by HTC's officials it's not yet sure the 8X will eventually get the Windows Phone Blue update, but, hopefully, both companies will be able to overcome all obstacles and bring the major upgrade to 8X users.

In the same piece of news, HTC removed the idea of not launching another Windows Phone device in the future, but no additional details on its marketing policy have been unveiled either:

“To say 'done with Windows Phone' is a pretty blanket statement. I don't think a company such as ourselves can ever say that point blank.”
