HTC and PCCW mobile have just announced the immediate availability of the HTC Windows Phone 8X smartphone in Hong Kong.

According to Winp.cn, the phone is exclusive to PCCW carrier and can be purchased for HKD $5,000 outright, which is about $645/€500.

Customers that do not mind committing to a long-term contract can grab the HTC 8X for HKD $300 with a new 24-month plans, which offers unlimited talk time, unlimited PCCW Wi-Fi hotspots and 2.5GB of mobile data.

One of the best Windows Phone 8 devices available on the market, the HTC 8X features a powerful processor and innovative technologies.

The handset is equipped with a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon processor, an Adreno 225 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

These are the same specs as the Nokia Lumia 920, but the HTC 8X packs only 16GB of internal memory, whereas the former embeds 32GB of storage. Neither comes with microSD card slot for memory expansion, but users will receive 7GB of free cloud storage via SkyDrive.

Even though HTC 8X sports an 8-megapixel rear camera featuring its own ImageSense technology, Lumia 920’s embeds a much better photo snapper that features Carl Zeiss optics and PureView technology.

HTC 8X also has a secondary 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls, which can also capture full HD (1080p) video.

The PCCW-bounded HTC 8X also supports the carrier’s LTE network, which has been recently launched in Hong Kong. Aside from that, the smartphone offers Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.1, along with NFC (Near Field Communications).

HTC 8X also comes with a stunning 4.3-inch Super LCD2 capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution, and features Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating. The smartphone is powered by a 1800 mAh Li-Ion battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.
