Verizon Wireless is closer than ever to the official release of its first Windows Phone 7 device, judging by the leaked details about the upcoming model. It seems that all information points to HTC 7 Trophy, which will be available from the major carrier at the beginning of 2011.

According to Paul Thurrott from WindowsPhoneSecrets website, the HTC 7 Trophy is scheduled for a January 2011 release at Verizon. This would be the first Windows Phone 7 smartphone to be available from the carrier.

HTC 7 Trophy is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 1 GHz processor and it runs on Microsoft Windows Phone 7 mobile platform.

The device comes with a 3.8-inch S-LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

Apparently, there have been customers who complained that they had received devices with normal LCD displays instead of S-LCDs. Before purchasing the device, it is recommended to make sure it comes with the S-LCD touchscreen.

The Trophy packs a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and geo-tagging, as well as video recording capabilities (720p).

Other highlights of the device include: accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, proximity sensor for auto turn-off, multi-touch input method, 8 GB internal memory, 576 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n connectivity, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, GPS with A-GPS support (Bing Maps included) and Stereo FM radio with RDS.

The Li-Ion 1300 mAh battery is rated by the manufacturer for up to 360 hours (up to 435 hours for 3G) standby time or up to 6 hours and 40 min (up to 3 hours and 30 minutes for 3G) talk time.

Verizon has already announced officially that it will introduce a new Windows Phone 7 device in early 2011, but it has not specified which model it will retail.
