When announcing its Windows Phone 7 lineup, Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation unveiled one device that did not make it to shelves during the ongoing year, namely the HTC 7 Pro, but which should be launched sometime during the next year.

While no official word on the exact release date for this Windows Phone 7 handset emerged, there are great chances that it might arrive on the market sometime in January, some of the latest rumors on it suggest.

Wireless carrier O2 Germany has put up a web page for the HTC 7 Pro on its website, suggesting that the device might arrive on shelves as soon as January.

This would not be the first time when this handset is rumored to be on its way to the market in very early 2011, that's for sure.

Some of the previous rumors suggested that this device would make an appearance on the airwaves of wireless carrier Sprint in the United States, and that the first quarter of the next year would bring it to the operator's customers.

The HTC 7 Pro should be one of the first Windows Phone 7 devices in the world to arrive on shelves with support for CDMA networks.

The specifications list of this device will include a large touchscreen display, complemented by a side sliding QWERTY keyboard. The phone will be powered by a powerful application processor.

Other specs include a 5-megapixel photo snapper, or a 480 x 800 pixels resolution for the said touchscreen. The phone measures 117,5 x 59 x 15,5 mm and weighs in at 185 g, O2's website notes.

Since it runs under Microsoft's new Windows Phone 7 platform, the handset will include support for specific services as well, including Xbox LIVE, Zune or the Windows Phone Marketplace.

Hopefully, HTC would be able to make the new 7 Pro available for purchase as soon as January, and not only on the European market, but in other countries as well. Keep an eye on this space for more info on the matter.
