U.S. Cellular has just made available for purchase on its airwaves a new mobile phone, the HTC 7 Pro, the very first handset in their offering to run under Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 operating system.

The new handset was made available for purchase for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and after the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the wireless carrier.

HTC 7 Pro was designed to offer all the necessary tools to people looking for completing specific tasks while on the go, as well as for those who are looking for entertainment on their mobile phones.

It comes with a sliding QWERTY keyboard, complemented by a 3.6-inch tilted touchscreen for expanded functionality.

The same as any other Windows Phone 7-powered device, the HTC 7 Pro comes with animated live tiles that can keep users up to date with pending messages and appointments, news and weather, as well as with friend status.

The viewing, editing, sharing and syncing of Office documents is a simple task, due to integration with Office applications.

“We have the phones that our customers want to help simplify their busy lives and have fun too,” said Edward Perez, vice president of sales and marketing operations for U.S. Cellular.

“Customers who switch to U.S. Cellular also get new phones faster without having to continuously sign contracts.”

Other features of the new mobile phone would include a 5.0 megapixel photo snapper with flash and video recording capabilities, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, digital compass, GPS, as well as built-in FM radio.

Moreover, the handset's features list would include Xbox LIVE integration, access to NetFlix, Zune and thousands of other applications through the Windows Phone Marketplace.

As stated above, the HTC 7 Pro is for sale now for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate, with the purchase of a data plan and the signing of a two-year agreement included into the mix. The mobile phone can be seen on the carrier's website here.
