Windows Phone-powered HTC 7 Pro smartphone is now available for purchase in the UK for only £229.99, SIM free and unlocked, if acquired via online retailer Play.com.

The mobile phone, launched on shelves in early 2011 with Microsoft's mobile operating system on board is listed as in stock at the retailer and is now £150 cheaper than usual.

The smartphone was unveiled last year in October as HTC's first Windows Phone to sport a sliding form factor.

The leading handset vendor packed it with a large 3.6-inch touchscreen display that can deliver a 480 x 800 WVGA resolution, complemented by a side-sliding full QWERTY keyboard to expand its functionality.

Inside, the new device packs a fast 1 GHz application processor, complemented by 576 MB of RAM and 512 MB of ROM.

Moreover, it sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with auto focus and flash, and with support for 720p HD video recording.

HTC 7 Pro was released on shelves with support for 3G networks, as well as with WiFi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth connectivity, 3.5 mm stereo audio jack, micro-USB (5-pin micro-USB 2.0), and a built-in GPS receiver with support for Bing Maps navigation.

“A phone that's equally at home whether your at work or play. With support for MS Office and your emails to keep you in touch with work during the day, while the large screen is perfect for watching movies,” the handset vendor notes.

“With Xbox Live you can play games from a huge library of console quality title, or download the latest song from your favourite artist with Zune.”

Based on Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 operating system, the device also offers support for specific services and applications, and comes with HTC Hub integration, Xbox LIVE, SharePoint support, Office Mobile, and more.

HTC 7 Pro can be seen listed on Play.com's website here.
