14 DAY TRIAL // With a bit more than a week until Microsoft and Nokia’s Windows Phone 8 launch event, a new HTC smartphone that promises to run the former’s upcoming version of the operating system leaks online.
An unknown HTC6990LVW has been spotted at Bluetooth SIG and judging by the codename, it will be launched in the United States through Verizon Wireless.
The listing also mentions a certain HTC PM233XX, which is powered by Windows Phone 8 operating system as well, though we’re not sure when and where the phone will be released.
However, we do know the HTC6990LVW comes with LTE support and is fully compatible with Verizon’s CDMA network.
Obviously, HTC will use other name for both Windows Phone 8 smartphones, but we will know more as soon as additional details leak.
According to the latest hearsay, HTC will announce no less than three Windows Phone 8 smartphones by the end of the year.
Codenamed HTC Rio, Zenith and Accord, the handset might be revealed in early September, right after Microsoft’s event, which is set to take place on September 5.
The most powerful of the three is the HTC Zenith. The smartphone is rumored to boast a huge 4.7-inch Super LCD 2 capacitive touchscreen display, as well as an 8-megapixel rear camera. In addition, the Zenith will be equipped with a quad-core processor and will offer support for HSPA+ (42Mbps).
The second Windows Phone 8 device expected to arrive on the market by the end of the year is the HTC Accord. The smartphone is said to sport a 4.3-inch Super LCD 2 capacitive touchscreen display with HD resolution.
In addition, HTC Accord will boast an 8-megapixel camera with full HD (1080p) video recording, a dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, HSPA+ and NFC support.
Last but not least, HTC Rio is an affordable smartphone, which sports a 4-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display, a 5-megapixel camera, 512MB on board, and a Qualcomm MSM8227 Snapdragon S4 Plus CPU.
