HTC’s 5-inch smartphone appears to be heading fast to an official launch, and it has already started to pop up in various websites around the web.

One of these is the Global Certification Forum, where the mobile phone has received approvals with support for LTE networks packed inside.

The phone sports model number HTC 6435LVW, the same that was previously rumored to have been attached to Verizon’s 5-inch DIX phablet, which was recently said to be the HTC DLX smartphone.

Basically, its support for LTE connectivity means that it might indeed arrive on shelves at Big Red, just as previously rumored, and that its official launch could be near.

According to some rumors, the handset might also be included in Google’s new Nexus program, which will have top-of-the-line products from various manufacturers around the world released on shelves under the popular brand.

HTC’s 6435LVW might become Nexus 5, provided that these rumors are to pan out, yet it could also be the previously leaked DROID Incredible X phablet for Verizon.

LG has been rumored as well to be working on a Nexus smartphone, and a possible Galaxy Nexus II handset from Samsung made the rounds on the web recently as well.

One way or the other, we should expect it to feature some very appealing hardware specifications when made available for purchase, starting with the large 440ppi screen and moving on to a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro application processor.

The phone is also said to sport 1.5GB of RAM inside, while featuring a 2400 mAh non-removable battery.

The behemoth would provide HTC with the possibility to better compete against rivals Samsung and LG, and the company’s latest financial results showed that it actually needs it badly.

While rumors on HTC 6435LVW appear to be contradictory at the moment, chances are that more specific info on the device will emerge soon, including an official announcement, so stay tuned.
