Over the past couple of months, HTC kept on delivering really cool phones, all nice looking and pretty high-end. Speaking of interesting devices, some time ago, a mysterious
HTC Rose got on our radar, but not too much info was available at that time.
The FCC seems to always deliver the news, be it good or bad, and the same goes for this HTC Rose, whose official name is actually HTC S740. Here is what we have so far on this device: it packs a Qualcomm 528MHz processor, and 256MB of ROM and 256 RAM, with all running on the
Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard. The phone's dimensions are 116.3 mm x 43.4 mm x 16.6 mm, which makes it of an acceptable size for a handheld.
Users will be happy to know that the device has a 2.4-inch TFT display with QVGA resolution, making viewing the photos taken with the 3.2 megapixel camera with fixed focus, or the surfing of webpages a piece of cake. As far as Internet and messaging are concerned, the phone is a slide-out, and packs a standard numerical keypad when closed, and a 4-row
QWERTY keyboard when open, so you should be able to make the most of the both.
The device also provides users with a GPS, Bluetooth 2.0 with Enhanced Data Rate and A2DP for stereo wireless headsets, Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b/g, HTC ExtUSB (mini-USB 2.0 and audio jack in one), microSD memory card slot, built-in microphone, speaker and FM radio. Also, HTC Rose runs on HSDPA/WCMDA networks, and is a quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE – but, of course, the data speed and band frequency are operator-dependent.
Hopefully, this device will hit the stores soon at an acceptable price. In the meanwhile, keep your eyes on this space for more details.
