Human Software has released a new version of its edit plug-in,
HSC Edit (1.4), for users of Apple's professional photography solution, Aperture. HSC Edit offers more than 4,000 effects to apply on one or a set of images. The new release adds mere UI tweaks and speed improvements.
HumanSoft Edit lets users preview their image and quickly examine the effects, within a large preview window. Users can scroll easily over them to see the result on their own photo instantly, all due to the huge number of effects available. Edit is mostly aimed at users of Apple's professional photography software, Aperture.
A particular highlight of the most recent version of HSC Edit (1.35 – released two weeks ago) is a new Image Enhancer, which has the ability to regain lost colors or details with just one click, without leaving Aperture. The powerful Image DeNoising feature is also new in HSC Edit. "Many digital images especially those taken at higher ISO sensitivities show a 'Noise' that affects the quality of the picture," Human Software says. "Many cameras increase the sensitivity when shooting in 'Action' or 'Night' modes."
"Also, cameras that provide anti-shake using electronics (instead of an image stabilizing lens or a device to stabilize the sensor) will boost sensitivity in order to allow a quicker shutter speed," the company explains. This is where Edit AutoDeNoise for Apple's Aperture comes in. It provides the user with the ability to reduce this digital noise, being very easy to use at the same time. Implicitly, AutoDeNoise adds contrast, saturation and sharpness controls.
HumanSoft Edit is now comprised of 14 different modules. These can be purchased individually for $69.95. The curve module can be purchased for just $29.95, the enhancer module - for $49.95, while the whole HSC Edit bundle can be acquired for a pocket-burning $299.95. HumanSoft Edit is a Universal Binary, and only works with Apple Aperture 2.1 on Leopard. A
demo version is available as well.
