HSC Edit, an edit plug-in for Aperture users that offers more than 4,000 effects to apply on one or a set of images, has been updated to version 1.35. Human Software's plug-in is comprised of 13 modules that can be purchased separately or as a whole bundle.

A particular highlight of HSC Edit 1.35 is a new Image Enhancer which has the ability to regain lost colors or details in just one click without leaving Aperture.

New in Version 1.35 is also the powerful Image DeNoising. "Many digital images especially those taken at higher ISO sensitivities show a 'Noise' that affects the quality of the picture," Human Software says. "Many cameras increase the sensitivity when shooting in 'Action' or 'Night' modes. Also, cameras that provide anti-shake using electronics (instead of an image stabilizing lens or a device to stabilize the sensor) will boost sensitivity in order to allow a quicker shutter speed," the company explains. This is where Edit AutoDeNoise for Apple's Aperture comes in. It provides the user with the ability to reduce this digital noise, being very easy to use at the same time. The tool is also "very affordable and appeals to a wide range of users," according to the makers. Implicitly, AutoDeNoise adds contrast, saturation and sharpness controls.

HumanSoft Edit will let you preview your image and examine very fast within a large preview window all effects. Also, you can scroll easily over them to see the result on your own photo instantly, all due to the huge number of effect available.

Edit is mostly aimed at users of Apple's professional photography software, Aperture. This is because Edit is a "powerhouse" for any imaging issue that might happen on your photos. The software, according to the makers, targets,

- Professional Photographers that need everyday to change the size of their photos while keeping the best quality - Digital Photographers to change image size while keeping maximum details - Printers / Repros that need to change image sizes to fit in Documents - Web designers that Increase or Decrease Image Sizes while keeping the maximum details for display - Hobbyists that may start with small size digital photos to get printable images.

If you could fit yourself in this list, Edit is definitely something you should consider as an acquisition. Speaking of which, HumanSoft Edit is made of 13 different modules that can be purchased individually for $69.95, the curve module for $29.95, the enhancer module for $49.95, or the whole as a bundle for $299.95 (S& H not included). A demo version of Edit for Aperture 1.35 can be downloaded here. HumanSoft Edit is a Universal Binary and fully compatible with Apple Aperture 2.1 for Mac Leopard.
