HP's TouchPad Gaming with Android, a WiiPad, and a Console Emulator

Despite the less than warm reception from the public, the now discontinued HP TouchPad is quite a capable device and a recent video shows the tablet playing a bunch of classical games on the Android OS.

The slate in question is running Android through CyanogenMod, and was paired with a Nintendo Wiimote controller via Bluetooth.

The hacker chose Google's mobile OS since there are a wide range of console emulators available for this platform, which allow you to run Nintendo, Gameboy, or even Playstation games on the OS.

The HP tablet seems to work quite nicely with all the games tested as it has more than enough processing power to run the emulators, although some older games have some problems with the 1024 x 768 pixel display used for the TouchPad.

You can take a look for yourself at the video demo, and also read at the original liliputing article that describes the whole process in much more detail.
