That HP was going to release a new TouchPad tablet in Europe was revealed in leaks a while before this day, but official availability has finally been attained, in Europe at least.

The folks over at PreCentral were able to swiftly discover that the TouchPad 64 GB tablet form HP has started selling.

Then again, a simple visit to HP's official website could have revealed this bit of information just as easily.

Regardless, the fact is that the capacious slate is now up for order, complete with all the other features that have, so far, kept the device marketable, as well as some upgrades.

A Qualcomm Snapdragon processor (APQ8060) with two cores a clock speed of 1.5 GHz directs every task the slate might be used for, making use of the 1.3 megapixel webcam, the digital microphone or the 802.11a/g/n Wi-Fi with WPA, WPA2, WEP and 802.1X support, when appropriate.

The LED-backlit display completes the feature set with a diagonal of 246 mm and support for multi-touch input

“This week, we have started introducing Pre3 in EMEA, and will also be debuting our 64GB TouchPad in the region,” HP reportedly told PreCentral.

“With more memory, a faster processor and available in gloss white, HP is excited to add this product to our TouchPad line and will announce regions and pricing closer to availability."

The price sported by the product is 599 Euro and the shipment time frame given by French retailers is 1-2 weeks.

Finally, the slate can be told apart from the others through the fact that it sports a white lacquer. What remains is to see how the company does on the software front and if the WebOS reaches the point of decent app availability in a timely fashion.

HP hasn't exactly brought out the trumpets for this release and it isn't perfectly clear when American shores will see the 64 GB TouchPad.
