HP has just announced the release of an application meant at making it more simple for employees to print documents even when they are on the go, namely HP ePrint app for BlackBerry devices.

The solution was developed mainly for business users, who need printing all kind of documents, and who need to get in front of a computer no more to do that. Provided that they own a BlackBerry smartphone, of course.

“HP ePrint makes mobile printing easy for large enterprises, small businesses, on-the-go professionals and consumers. As a BlackBerry smartphone user you can print documents, photos, presentations, reports and more - wherever life and business take you,” HP states on its website.

With the new application, business users will be able to print a wide range of documents, including Microsoft Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, Adobe PDFs, Image files, HTML files, Text and rich text files, and XPS documents.

Using this application should be very simple, as it involves only a few steps, such as selecting the e-mail/attachment to print, searching for public print locations, selecting the preferred location, hitting Print and waiting for confirmation, and then using the GPS to navigate to the chosen location.

“For professionals who frequently travel or work remotely, HP ePrint is available as a free app for BlackBerry smartphones. With HP ePrint, BlackBerry smartphone users can quickly search for and print to thousands of locations, including print and copy retail stores, hotels, airport lounges and more,” HP added.

According to HP, there are many HP ePrint Public Printing Locations that are powered by PrinterOn. The pairing of HP ePrint with the PrinterOn network of public printers should offer users the possibility to print whenever they need.

The company also notes that the HP ePrint location application will take advantage of the handset's GPS coordinates so as to locate and map nearby PrintSpots.

However, other locations where users can print documents are also available, including:

- 1,800 FedEx Office stores (available November 2010) - 1,300 Hilton hotels - Select Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges  - Other print locations powered by PrinterOn

The new HP ePrint application for BlackBerry devices was made available for download from the BlackBerry App World.
