The laptop has been in a news lately due to some faulty overheating chargers

Yesterday I brought you more news from the unfolding HP Chromebook 11 story. The laptops were pulled off retail shelves and everywhere else online, due to the complaints concerning chargers overheating and in some cases actually melting.

The US Product Safety Commission issued a recall yesterday, saying that affected customers should contact Google in order to get a free replacement charger.

Google has also updated its Chrome blog concerning the matter, inviting HP Chromebook owners to visit the HP website and request the charger.

If so far I could only speculate whether HP and Google continue selling the hazardous device, the Google post officially answers the question.

Apparently, whatever was wrong with the old charger has been fixed and Google and HP are ready to resume sales of the Chromebook 11. All new packages will include the replacement charger. But at this point, I can’t help but wonder if new customers will risk purchasing an HP Chromebook 11, after everything that happened.
