On July 29th, Oracle announced that HP and Dell plan to certify and resell three operating systems from Oracle: Oracle Solaris, Oracle VM and Oracle Enterprise Linux, on their 32-bit server machines. Customers will get complete access to Oracle’s Premier Support for the aforementioned systems, which will enable accurate and fast issue resolution and lower risk in their IT environment.

"Oracle Solaris is the industry's #1 UNIX operating system, and is in demand across multiple x86 platforms. Additionally, more and more customers are building virtual environments using Oracle Enterprise Linux and Oracle VM on x86 platforms. Today's announcement demonstrates Oracle’s commitment to openness and will provide Dell and HP customers with new levels of support, and immediate access to deep product expertise, limiting risk in their IT environment." said Charles E. Phillips, President of Oracle Corporation.

In the announcement, Oracle assures Oracle Premier Support subscribers of their continuing investment in the Oracle Enterprise Linux, Oracle Solaris and Oracle VM operating systems, by providing substantial updates.

Joyce Mullen, Vice President of Global Alliances for Dell Inc. ensures customers satisfaction with their award-winning platforms and Oracle's assets: "Dell provides customers with choice and flexibility by offering Solaris, Oracle Enterprise Linux and Oracle VM as well as other operating systems on its x86 servers. [...] Our joint customers will be able to leverage our award-winning servers and the software assets from Oracle to build out robust, dependable and optimized IT platforms, helping them be more competitive while maximizing ROI on technology investments."

In the end of the announcement, Paul Miller, Vice President of Solutions and Strategic Alliances, Enterprise Servers, Storage and Networking at HP, guarantees that the combination of HP ProLiant servers with Oracle's operating systems will deliver superior scalability, performance, and virtualization capabilities on 32-bit platforms.
