Sunnyvale, California-based chip maker AMD has announced today that its entire line of business-oriented ATI FirePro graphics cards will now be featured in the recently launched HP Z workstations. The new systems are designed for graphics professionals and combine the computing performance delivered by Intel's latest Nehalem EP-based Xeon 5500 processors with the graphics capabilities of AMD's new ATI FirePro V7750, as well as the ATI FirePro V3700 and ATI FirePro V5700 graphics accelerators. These solutions will be available in HP's Z400, Z600 and Z800 workstations, enabling a higher level of performance for graphics professionals.

“AMD and HP together offer the workstation market exceptional tools for creative, scientific and engineering professionals,” said Janet Matsuda, senior director, Professional Graphics, AMD. “We are excited to pair our ATI FirePro graphics accelerators with HP Z Workstations to deliver flexibility and reliability backed by certified application performance.”

AMD's ATI FirePro V7750 has been designed with 1GB of graphics memory and is capable of handling large CAD models and complex animations, making it easy for graphics professionals to get the job done in due time. In addition, the card consumes only 76 watts of power, making it an energy-efficient solution for users who require support for DirectX 10.1, OpenGL 3.0, full shader model 4.1 and a maximum resolution of 2560 by 1600 pixels. In addition to this model, AMD said that the V5700 and the V3700 were immediately available in the new HP Z-series workstations, offering support for CAD and DCC professionals. Each of the two is meant to deliver a different level of performance.

“HP Z Workstations provide customers with unprecedented performance, value and serviceability in a sleek new design,” said Jeff Wood, director of worldwide marketing, Workstations, HP. “We look forward to working with AMD and using its ATI FirePro graphics accelerators to bring customers powerful solutions for their demanding graphics-intensive applications.”
