HP Will Use 35W X2 CPU in Its Following s7600e Series PC

In a serious effort to stay ahead Dell as the biggest personal computer maker, HP has developed - for the first
time in the last 3 years - a completely energy efficient PC, using the 35W X2 3800+ CPU series from AMD. Combined with a slim line chassis and a very appealing mini-ITX board produced for AM2 socket, this future mini PC should be quite a success, since it uses so little power that you could easily use as a HTPC, without having to search a high-wattage PSU.

What is really interesting about this project is the fact that, immediately after the launch, almost all 35W AMD CPUs disappeared from the market. Rumors say that they’ve all gone to HP CPU heaven. Well, good for them, bad for the rest of us. Needless to say that s7600e line also features 35W Semprons. I guess these CPU will never reach the user, at least not when AMD sells all of them to integrators, rather than 3rd party suppliers.
