It may have clinched it already for the first 10 months of the year

Lenovo took away HP's seat as top PC supplier worldwide, and the latter was, understandably enough, not thrilled with that turn of events.

Now, though, it seems as if HP will be reclaiming its crown, at least on the notebook market. And since notebooks pretty much define how the PC industry goes nowadays, the overall PC industry may be in the bag too.

For 2013, HP means to ship 28 million notebooks.

If it manages to ship 23.5 million of those during the first 10 months of the year though, it will have pushed Lenovo back, since supply chain watchers only expect Lenovo to manage 22 million.

The rising enterprise notebook segment may help a bit too, and HP has been particularly active in securing procurement orders too.

We'll figure out how all this turns out once October 2013 comes around.
