Designs are a bit old but some may still catch on, for better or worse

Looks like HP may be changing its brand logo again, quite soon even, if a pair of videos that just started to get the attention of the web are anything to go by.

After all the strange things that HP went through over the past few months, the company is considering a change of face.

That is to say that it might end up changing its logo, or all of them, or some.

Things are a bit hazy even though the two videos on Moving Brands are explicit enough, as well as long.

Some of those logos are about a couple months old, though, and they even figure the webOS software.

WebOS really was the big giveaway since it was only days ago that HP announced it was turning it open source.

Still, even with that software out of the way, HP might decide to choose a new logo, or already decided but didn't get around to it yet.

Moving Brands is considered a logo specialist and was tasked with finding one that would fit with HP's brand overhaul efforts.

One idea was for switching the circular logo for one made of four lines, more abstract as it were.

The 13-degree angle is a recurring theme in all the company's brochures, so it isn't precisely shocking to see.

What may be a surprise is that the simpler lines are supposed to suggest HP's ever high aims and progress.

Of course, it bears noting that even if HP does start changing the logos on its products, the media probably won't mind sticking to the old logos for a while.

Then again, the situation probably won't arise at all, since if HP really did plan on making such a change, it would have done it already (unless it wants to leave it for 2012), considering the age of the propositions made by Moving Brands.
