HP has just rolled out the Elitebook Folio 1020 business Ultrabook, which is thinner than the Macbook Air and takes advantage of rugged properties.
The notebook’s processing power comes from Intel’s new Core M architecture, but will not be the only laptop from the company’s portfolio to take advantage of the Broadwell platform.
HP is refreshing its Elitebook lineup adding Intel’s 5th gen architecture under their hood. According to HP itself (as seen at Notebook Italia), the notebooks / convertibles taking advantage of the makeover include the EliteBook 850, 840, 820, 750, 740, 720 and EliteBook Revolve 810.
You might remember that HP has the Elitebook 725, 745 and 755G laptops which take advantage of AMD’s Kavari APU platform, but Intel-based versions were rumored to be in the pipeline for some time now.
Moreover, the EliteBook 700 and 800 will come packing a new software kit too, which will include HP Noise Reduction Software, the cloud-based management solution HP Touchpoint Manager, and HP Client Security Biosphere for protection of sensitive data.
Details about the aesthetical properties of the new laptops are not available, so we can assume they will probably look the same. HP plans to start selling the new models beginning in January 2015.
