HP's TouchPad is still months away from market availability (while its direct competitor, the iPad 2, is already out there), but that doesn't stop the company from actively promoting it, some of these commercial, however, being a bit far-fetched (to say the least).

So, as PreCentral reports, it would seem that, within a video commercial for HP's Android 3.0 tablet, the company either revealed a possible future upgrade, or the yearning for matching the iPad 2's features.

The respective video features two main characters, namely a father/son duo, the former using the TouchPad running a fictional augmented reality app in order to show the latter just how his room would look like if it features dinosaur posters.

Of course, the idea is actually a rather interesting one, apart from a “minor” detail: the TouchPad depicted in the video employs a rear-facing camera, that doesn't really exist on the actual device (or the version showcased to the public thus far).

In fact, for the time being, all that we know about the TouchPad is that it will come equipped with a 1.3-megapixel front-facing imager, used in order to allow users to make very good use of VoIP services and communications.

We're really not sure whether this video is intentionally released by HP in this form (thus hinting at a possible integration of a second camera module within the TouchPad by the time of the market release), or it's a slip-up by the agency who's done the commercial for HP (and quite a major one, for that matter).

Either way, watching a real tablet equipped with a fictional feature depicted in a video was somewhat fun, although we're pretty sure that this won't really help it sell a lot better, to be perfectly honest, especially since the iPad 2 already packs two cameras and will have a 3-months' head start over the TouchPad.
