14 DAY TRIAL // HP is about to launch two new Android tablets in India. Although both are in the smaller range, they are quite expensive, probably due to the fact that they are HP devices.
The most expensive, HP Slate 7 VoiceTab Ultra will be available for purchase in India for no less than Rs 29,990 outright, which is about $470 or €430.
Even though it's been priced so high, HP tablet will ship with an old Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system onboard. It's unclear whether or not the company plans to update the slate in the future.
The 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display supports 1920 x 1200 pixels resolution. On the inside, HP Slare 7 VoiceTab Ultra is equipped with a 1.6GHz quad-core HiSilicon processor, a Mali 450 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.
The tablet packs 16GB of internal memory, but there's no mention of microSD card slot for memory expansion. However, we do know that the slate will boast an impressive (for a tablet) 13-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording.
In the front, there's a no-less-impressive 5-megapixel camera for selfies. HP Slate 7 VoiceTab Ultra is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery and can offer GSM voice calls as well.
Both tablets ship with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
Moving on to the HP Slate 8 Plus, the tablet will go on sale in India for Rs 22,990 outright, which is about $360 or €330.
Unfortunately, the tablet runs the same old Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system. It also packs a similar 1.6GHz quad-core HiSilicon processor, a Mali 450 graphics processing unit and only 1GB of RAM.
Just like the other HP tablet, it comes with 16GB of storage. However, in the back there's a 5-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 1-megapixel camera for selfies.
Last but not least, HP Slate 8 Plus sports an 8-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 1280 x 800 pixels resolution, and it's powered by a 4,800 mAh battery.
