In addition to the new HDX16 and HDX18 portable computer systems, and the TouchSmart IQ800-series PC, the leading manufacturer of portable computer systems, HP, has also announced today a couple of computer peripherals which, aside from their good looks, promise quite impressive specs.

“HP’s new consumer notebooks and TouchSmart PC deliver smart and creative ways to engage the wealth of photos, videos, music and entertainment that was previously stuck on our PCs gathering digital dust,” said Stephen DeWitt, senior vice president, Personal Systems Group, HP. “HP is developing new products and solutions that help make connecting to people and information simple and fun, and create a truly personalized computing experience.” DeWitt further explained.

The company's new HDX Laser Mouse and Laser Gaming Mouse with VoodooDNA have been designed to offer users high-quality peripheral devices that can deliver incredible performance for both gaming and non-gaming users. When it comes to mouse designs, satisfying the needs of today's gaming users can prove quite a challenge. However, HP benefits from the experience of Voodoo PC, a company known for its experience in designing gaming gear. The result is these two new mice that can deliver up to 3200 dpi in-game settings, five programmable buttons and VoodooDNA GUI software, which allows users to preset five different macros with five unique profiles for up to 25 different combinations.

In addition, the company has also announced a new spill-resistant Wireless Comfort Keyboard and Mouse combo that features a wave-shaped keyboard design, a cushioned wrist rest and three different adjustable heights. The keyboard also sports 31 hotkeys that provide access to the Web, as well as to media applications. The mouse has a four-way-tilt scroll wheel and two programmable buttons, all incorporated in an asymmetric design for better ergonomics and comfort.

As far as pricing and availability go, the HP HDX Laser Mouse and Laser Gaming mouse with VoodooDNA will be priced at $39.99 and $59.99, respectively, while the Wireless Comfort Keyboard and mouse combo goes for $79.99, and is now available for purchase.
