After the announcement of the signed contract with the United States Air Force, HP is ready to take on another big and lucrative business opportunity, a contract with the company Maritz. According to a HP press release concerning this event, the computer manufacturing company is going to supply Maritz with a wide range of IT components and related services on an as needed basis.

The said contract was signed between Maritz and HP Financial Services, division of the HP company that is concerned with leasing and financial services and it is valued of up to five million dollars per year. Maritz is a United States based company that is specialized in market research, incentive travel and integrated performance improvement and analysis. According to the contract between the two companies, Maritz will order "HP desktop or notebook computers, HP ProLiant servers, enterprise storage services, printers and software as well as other equipment from OfficeMax Inc., an HP value-added reseller". All Maritz ordered IT products will be first shipped to the company's head offices in St. Louis, where technicians will load all the necessary software applications before shipping them further to the appropriate branch offices.

"The ability to add equipment and services as we need them, without the capital outlay of an outright purchase, offers us a tremendous advantage," said Rich Donnell, vice president, IT planning and administration, Maritz. "Additionally, HP Financial Services makes it possible to refresh our technology regularly without having to worry about what to do with older gear. We just ship it back and they take care of it." HP Financial Services will receive the number and types of IT products needed by the Maritz company on a monthly basis and consolidate them every quarter, according to the contract. When older equipment is coming out of the lease period it will be returned to the HP Financial Services for renewal at their center in Andover.

Maritz is a leading company in the sales and marketing services department and with over 3,500 workers worldwide, it ranks at the 265th position "in the most recent Forbes magazine listing of the "500 Biggest Privately Held Companies."
