The joint venture with EMC won't be much help, president believes

HP is not worried about Lenovo's overtures on the cloud computing segment, even though the latter is doing well enough on the consumer front.

And by well enough we mean to say that Lenovo is just about ready to overtake HP as top supplier of PCs.

In comparison, HP isn't concerned about Lenovo on the enterprise front. In fact, it believes that there is a huge boundary between the PC and cloud computing industries.

Lenovo has recently established a server and network partnership with EMC, a joint venture as it were, but HP doesn't think it is anything to be worried about. The company has, after all, been investing in automation, virtualization and security application for years, meaning that Lenovo doesn't have a shot at carving a slice of the segment without another investment of $10 billion or so (8.12 billion Euro).

We've yet to see Lenovo respond to this.
