Eager to make sure its position as top supplier of PCs is not threatened, HP has just released three new desktop PCs, namely the HP TouchSmart tm2 convertible notebook, the TouchSmart 310 all-in-one and the HP Omni100 desktop.

Coming to expand its collection of personal computers, HP has adopted both Intel and AMD CPUs when it developed its latest computers.

The Omni100 is a desktop PC whose configuration is centered around the Athlon II 260u dual-core CPU from Advanced Micro Devices.

This central processing unit has a clock speed of 1.8 GHz and is backed up by 3 GB of RAM, as well as the ATI Radeon HD 4270 graphics.

The system also boasts a hard disk drive of 500 GB, as well as a webcam, WiFi b/g/n and the Microsoft Windows 7 Operating System.

The TouchSmart tm2, on the other hand, uses an Intel Core i3-380UM CPU, which runs at 1.33 GHz and is backed by 4 GB of RAM.

This convertible netbook naturally has a twisting screen, its diagonal being of 12.1 inches and its native resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels.

The display also features multitouch input with stylus support, so that the notebook may be used as a tablet.

The laptop's feature set also includes a 500 GB HDD, Gigabit Ethernet, a 5-in-1 memory card reader, WiFi, a HDMI output and a 6-cell battery (6.5 hours battery life).

Finally, the TouchSmart 310 all-in-one is based on the AMD Athlon II 240e dual-core of 2.8 GHz, which is coupled with 4 GB of RAM and a HDD of 1TB, plus multitouch, a TV tuner and a DVD burner.

The Omni100 and TouchSmart 310 will start shipping on September 22, for $499.99 and $699.99, respectively.

As for the TouchSmart tm2, it will debut on October 27 and its starting price point will be of $829.99.
