Gigabyte may have done something for people seeking all-in-one PCs, but HP is the one that really smashed into and through expectations with its massive new range of such items.

All-in-One systems may not be as cheap as similarly-powered regular desktops, but they do have a higher space efficiency and, sometimes, higher energy efficiency as well.

HP may have said that it wants to give up its PC business, but it isn't done with the segment yet, as is made clear by its new announcement.

Basically, the company launched a large number of AiO systems, some aimed for home users and others (not covered here) for the business and enterprise.

“The popularity of the all-in-one form factor continues to grow, and HP’s contribution to this market is significant,” said Todd Bradley, executive vice president, Personal Systems Group, HP.

“We continue to expand our portfolio to remain the global leader in Windows-based all-in-one PCs, introducing innovation that matters to business customers and consumers alike.”

For one, HP created the Omni series, armed with the LinkUp technology, which lets one use a notebook to access the content on it.

The line is composed of the 20-inch Onmi 120 (750 GB storage, AMD or Intel CPUs) and the 21.5-inch Omni 220 (Second-generation Intel quad-core units, may have Beats Audio, all in a streamlined cantilever design).

The other consumer AiOs are for the TouchSmart series and, obviously, have multitouch on their 20-inch (TouchSmart 320), 21.5-inch (420) and 23-inch (520) panels.

These newcomers also have the aforementioned LinkUp feature, in addition to Beats Audio technology and the exclusive TouchSmart software.

The Omni 120 and 220 will sell starting this month (21 and 11 September, respectively), for $399.99 and $799.99.

As for the others, the TouchSmart 420 ($699.99) and 520 ($899.99) will begin to ship on September 11, with the 320 ($599.99) to follow a while afterwards (October 2).
