It really seems that HP's quite on a roll lately since, after revealing two new TouchSmart systems yesterday, it's now back with yet another very interesting announcement, this time around related to a redesign of its well-known dv6 and dv7 Pavilion notebooks, as well as the introduction of three new g-series portable systems.

The new Pavilion notebooks are available in a dark umber metal finish and take a few important design cues from the HP's famous ENVY line, including here the presence of Beats Audio Technology (for enhanced audio quality) as well as CoolSense Technology, that combines advanced hardware and intelligent cooling software.

It's also worth mentioning that both Pavilion notebooks offer USB 3.0 connectivity and on-board quad speakers, and the dv7 features a subwoofer as well, while both models also pack a HP TrueVision HD Webcam.

In terms of hardware, the new Pavilion dv6 and dv7 come equipped with 15.6- and 17.3-inch high-definition (HD) BrightView displays, powered by AMD Radeon 6000M graphics, Intel Core i5 or i7 processors and up to 1 terabyte (TB) of storage for the Pavilion dv6 and up to 2 TB for the Pavilion dv7.

The three new g-series notebooks we've mentioned earlier (namely models g4, g6 and g7) target a more mainstream audience and thus offer some less impressive specs (Pentium Dual Core and Core i3 CPUs), but still deliver full connectivity, a HD BrightView display and Altec Lansing speakers, accompanied by and SRS Premium Audio.

“HP’s new Pavilion notebooks provide world-class audio, stylish metal and gloss finishes, and advanced cooling technology,” said Stacy Wolff, director, Notebook Design, Personal Systems Group, HP, adding that “the result is a line of notebooks that provide the best combination of power, entertainment and style available.”

Unfortunately, HP doesn't offer some significant info as far as the redesigned dv6 and dv7 Pavilion notebooks are concerned, mentioning only that they'll arrive in the US in the Spring of 2011, but they do reveal the fact that the g-series notebooks will hit the shelves on March 13, selling for $499.99, $449.99 and $599.99 ( g4, g6 and g7, respectively).
