It seems that, whether in anticipation of CeBIT 2011 or not, IT players are bringing out new machines by the lot, and HP chose not to waste any time, issuing a press release meant to detail its new business laptops.

The rugged HP EliteBook 8460p and 8560p have already been covered, but the outfit also readied the HP ProBook 6360b, HP ProBook 6460b and HP ProBook 6560b.

In that order, they have display sizes of 13.3 inches, 14 inches and 15.6 inches, respectively.

The main point of this set of PCs is to offer flexibility in terms of performance, meaning that customers can have them configured in a variety of ways.

They can have one of a range of processors, including the new, second generation of dual-core Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 CPUs, or the Celeron series.

Among the other possible components are such things as HD webcams, SRS Premium Sound and a Media Card Reader.

Also, because business-oriented machines could always do with a higher degree of durability, the company threw in an HP DisplaySafe frame (protects the panel) and display latches made of titanium-alloy, plus a spill-resistant keyboard.

All in all, the HP ProBook b-series adheres to the so-called “FORGE” design framework, implying a so-called timeless construction and optimum reliability.

“HP is the market leader in business notebooks and we have raised the bar with a completely revamped line of business-grade notebooks,” said Dan Forlenza, vice president, Business Notebooks, Personal Systems Group, HP.

“Our all-metal EliteBooks meet military standards and will surpass customer expectations in durability.”

Those wanting to see any and all available information on the machines need only drop by the official website. As for pricing and availability, HP will start selling them on March 15, for a starting price of $799.
